Vietnam is one of Asia’s most popular tourism destinations and the next two weeks will see the country become a major draw for poker players from all around the continent and the rest of the world as there will be two major poker festivals to take place there.
The World Poker Tour has already arrived at Pro Poker Club in Ho Chi Minh City for a thrilling poker festival that will culminate in a VND22-Million Main Event. The tournament is slated to kick off tomorrow, October 28 and will crown its victor on October 2. It will begin with a guaranteed prize pool of VND8 billion, but hopes are high that a big number of players will flow to the host venue and will crush the initial guarantee.
The WPT Vietnam festival actually kicked off on Wednesday, September 26 with a two-day VND7.7-million Welcome WPT Vietnam tournament with two re-entries. Aside from the Main Event, which will certainly grab the most attention, the upcoming WPT Vietnam High Roller is, too, expected to draw quite some interest, particularly from fans of high roller tournament action.
The High Roller event will kick off on October 1 with the first of two starting flights. Aside from the two starting days, the event will also feature a second day of play during which the winner will be determined. This exciting tournament will feature a buy-in fee of VND44 million.
Asian Poker Tour – Da Nang, Vietnam
The coastal city of Da Nang will, too, host a major poker series in the coming days. The Asian Poker Tour’s Vietnam stop will take place from October 5 through October 11 and will feature 11 events within the series, multiple satellites to the Main Event, and the very special VND107.5-million CoinPoker Super High Roller.
The CoinPoker high roller tournament will be one of the opening events of the festival. It will be a two-day one and will kick off on October 5. It is also important to note that CoinPoker will sponsor two more tournaments, with those being marked as part of the official schedule of the APT festival. The first one will be a two-day VND54-million No-Limit Hold’em CoinPoker High Roller, starting October 10, and the second one will be a single-day VND43-million CoinPoker High Roller that will take place on the final day of the festival – October 11.
The Main Event will begin on the second day of the festival and will run all the way through October 11. It will feature a VND22-million buy-in fee and a guaranteed prize pool of VND6 billion. Players will be able to enter the tournament through one of three starting flights played over three separate days. In addition, there will be three satellites to the Main Event with buy-ins of VND4.8 million.
