Peter Vitantonio Wins Third WSOP Circuit Gold Ring at Harrah’s Atlantic City

Peter Vitantonio won his career’s third gold ring last night at Harrah’s Atlantic City. The player took down the single-day $365 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo for his third piece of gold. Vitantonio was crowned the victor after nine hours of play.

The player emerged victorious over a field of 174 entries. Aside from the shiny gold piece, the Ohio-based poker pro also collected the amount of $14,096 for his triumph. Vitantonio literally bulldozed his way through the tournament.

By the time there were only ten payers left in the event, the eventual winner had established himself as the chip leader. He entered the unofficial ten-handed final table with 384,000 in chips and was slightly ahead of A. Jason Warriner, who held the second largest stack at the time. The final table stage lasted around two hours, during which Vitantonio dominated play.

The player told WSOP staff after the event that he ran pretty good over the greater part of final table action and managed to win quite a lot of hands. He recalled a very big hand, the very first one after dinner break, which he won with aces. That hand helped him a lot to cement his leading position at the table.

Here it is important to note that the tournament’s champion was the only player at the final table to have previously won pieces of WSOP Circuit gold. He was also the one to have cashed the most in the series. Including last night, Vitantonio now has 18 in-the-money finishes in the series.

His skills and composure brought him all the way to the two-handed duel against Andy Rossi. Eventually, Rossi was eliminated in second place, good for a payday of $8,710. As for Vitantonio, his payout from yesterday’s Turbo event brought his overall earnings from WSOP and WSOP Circuit events to nearly $450,000.

Vitantonio’s Previous Accomplishments

The Ohio-based player has two previous gold rings from the WSOP Circuit series. He won both pieces at Palm Beach Kennel Club in Florida. In 2015, the player won a $1,675 Main Event at the popular poker venue for a massive payout of $129,685 and his first piece of WSOP Circuit jewelry.

Vitantonio captured gold ring number two in 2017, when he took down a $1,125 No-Limit Hold’em at Palm Beach Kennel Club. He also scooped $41,162 for winning that event.

Of his most recent poker accomplishment, Vitantonio said that it felt good, although the tournament was not as big as the ones he had previously won. Yet, it made him feel proud and excited that he was adding another piece of WSOP Circuit jewelry to his collection of poker trophies.

The latest WSOP Circuit gold ring winner also said that he enjoyed the tournament format and that he was able to win the piece for just nine hours of play. He went on that he might prefer playing quick structures in smaller buy-in events.
